Being a Garda Reserve will change your life.
But it can also change someone else’s..

I’m Sabrina and I help people in my day job at Dublin Airport. It involves coordinating a lot of tasks, as you can imagine. But it means I can apply these skills on a community level when I work with the Garda Reserve.

Being part of the team at the station opens up the community to me. It teaches you about society, humanity, vulnerability and justice, really.

I’ve been involved in so many different aspects of support for the Garda. What they do is challenging and demanding. So, to be a part of what they give back is extremely rewarding.

Being a Garda is a tough job. And that’s why being a Garda Reserve is a job worth doing.

Being a Garda Reserve will change your life.
But it can also change someone else’s…

I’m Kevin and in all my years as a Social Worker I have built up many skills in communicating with vulnerable adults and children. I’ve always thought about becoming a Garda but having seen my mother join as a Garda Reserve it made me realise I could use my communication skills to help the force in their work within the locality.

Being on the ground and helping with community interaction is extremely rewarding and, above all, helpful for the team. The experience has been fantastic groundwork towards my next move into full-time Garda training.
